![]() DW9E child results tend to be SO MUCH BETTER and AND you can EDIT THEM if you want to improve their look! AND if you don't like the sex they are both with, you can change that too!! so DW9E has more freedoms and customization in those aspects as well. Overall, though, child in DW8E look like abominations. DW8E has advantage of child growing up to be a warrior during the campaign, DW9E has the campaign climax with child born afterwards, which player can setup the family to start in the same force together in a new campaign if they want. Though they certainly are unique so they have that going for them.ĭW9E is actually the first to have more natural chinese garments in CAW besides gaudy ones. The Animals aren't exhilarating to beat though that's not a Dynasty Warriors 9 issue as animals across the entire franchise have never been great, these ones in particular are just a damage sponge nuisance that become ludicrous to face if you have a troop disadvantage. And yes while bases were basically copy/pasted, the actual battle maps around it were still designed better allowing for more strategic positioning of your Officers on certain maps. While its true you can just walk to the main base in previous Empires games you still had to create a linking network of bases to capture it or draw out the enemy commander, so no you couldn't just rush the main base and be done without grabbing the other bases. You can wander around the sandbox as an officer or even the Ruler and its always the exact same experience, you go somewhere, look around and that's basically it since you don't encounter anything in the open world except for the Bandits and Wild Animals that give you an absolute pittance of supplies per kill. DW9E feels more like a war than previous Empires. ![]() While DW9E battlefields are more open and there are different ways to siege the castle or having to defend it since its being invaded from different directions and there are siege weapons to take down. and strategems are really not needed at all except maybe the healing ones. ![]() ![]() rinse repeat".Īnd even if player "has" to connect supply lines, that is a linear breeze to do. they keep player on their toes, which is nice from the old school Empires of "just plow into the main base, beat _ number of enemies and beat up the commander. its super tough, but beatable, and exhiliarating to fight. its either that or whining "there's no challenge". people can literally just walk into the main base without having to break down its gates or scale its wall.Īlso the secret plans are cool. you could say same thing about every Empires.Īll battlefields are just rearranging of main bases and bases. its up to players imagination what to do in the sandbox. The removal of quests was bad, it would have given vagrant more to do, but there is point to be free officer/vagrant, its for those that like to travel, explore and do nonmilitary things. So 9's strengths are unfortunately just weighed down a lot by its weaknesses. Secret Plans are a whole other mess of Strengths and Weaknesses, some enemy plans are just outright bullshit like taking over a base that we'll spawn every enemy officer in once they're defeated stopping you from stopping the plan to summoning a highly annoying overpowered animal that will endlessly chase you while having unpredictable hyper armour. There's little strategy to the open map layout as you can't assign officers to protect strategic chokehold points and enemy officers in this game just often end up ignoring ally officers anyway. Siege Battles certainly are interesting but a big drawback to that is that most maps end up feeling the same, with few exceptions. There's basically no point in being a free officer this time around as a result of all non-invasion/defence battles being removed. The single player elements aren't anything special either, given that they removed all of the Quest features in a game style that desperately needed something for the Open World to make things interested, removed the option to perform a small-scale raid to weaken a faction. If your post randomly disappeared, it's probably because it has already been posted. Mods may remove memes at their discretion to prevent overflowing.
